Second Term Exam of English

Text one

Independent schools are schools which are not dependent on the government for financing their operation. The terms independent school and private school are often synonyms in popular usage. They are expensive schools that tend to be up-market and traditional. Some such schools teach religious lessons together with the usual academic subjects. Private schools may have a greater focus on sports and other associations than public schools. One of the first things you notice about most private schools is that the students are wearing uniforms

Text two

A public school is administered by government. It's a school which provides education free of charge to pupils. This usage is most common in the United States and a lot of other countries. It is synonymous with its British English equivalent, State school. Most of the middle class families send their children to such schools, which might be in their own city or far off, like Boarding schools. Many public schools are getting stricter in uniform, too
