Adolph Dassler built one of the world's most popular marks of sports shoes, “Adidas”, 'Adi' from Adolf and 'Das' from Dassler. He started working as a cobbler in Herzogenaurach, Germany. He made slippers from old military bags with the help of his sister. As he was a good football player, Dassler began producing training shoes in 1920 when he was only 20 years old. He used his athletic experience and the help of doctors, trainers and coaches and other athletes to better design his shoes. In 1949, Dassler created the first soccer shoe made of rubber and decorated with three stripes. The German National team won in the 1954 World Cup wearing Adi's soccer boots, and hundreds of world records, Olympic medals and World Cup victories stand as a testament
to Adi Dassler's life work.
