According to studies made , the Americans "nationalized" English language to make out their identity after the political independence from the mother country , The United Kingdom. ANother good example is the way they utter words and the terms they use for every situation/concept.

But not with our kids. A teacher who I know tries hard to use American English in class though he is pretty sure the kids understand nothing of what he's saying. Guess why.

To hide his weakness due to laziness in preparing his lessons. I once asked him about his classes and he replied that most of his students know everything of what he teaches (whereas they understand nothing of what he utters) , so why bothering himself to teach hard.

I concluded that some teachers have really become good cheaters of people's kids. May God forgive them.

What I meant by using both Englishes is restricted to the spelling of some quite common words (without forgetting to mention that difference of course) no more.

Besides ,I do know one or two fresh teachers who speak American Eng and I once wondered if the curriculum in all Algerian institutes of English where only British Eng is taught has ever changed.

So ,why AmerEng? or why not? scratch

Outside the English class,Our kids today are exposed more to American than British Eng through the American films they watch on a daily basis.So,I think they can cope with both.
