RAMADAN
author unknown

Ramadan is here, The month that is blessed;
Ramadan is here, The month we love best.
The month in which the Qur'an was sent;
A time of great blessing in which to repent.
Fasting for Allah is a great Muslim deed;
Controlling desires and Suppressing greed.

Ramadan is coming, Increase your Iman(faith).
Ramadan is coming, Recite the Qur'an.
Take "Suhoor" in the dead of the Night;
No eating or drinking during the daylight.
Refrain from bad deeds and repent your soul;
The pleasure of Allah is our only goal.

Even if there is hunger, remember your Lord
And wait until 'Iftar' to earn your reward.
Fasting is one of the gifts of Allah
Given to believers to increase 'Taqwah' (piety).
We pray to Allah to put right our hearts;
Ask for forgiveness from Allah and make a new start.

Raising our hands we ask for his 'Rahmaa';
Hear us our Lord and grant us 'Jannah'.

Month of Mercy

Welcome to Ramadan, the month of mercy.
Sit yourself calm and witness the beauty.

Feel the pure breeze under the shade of palm trees,
Forgiveness - even if sins stretch seven seas.

The month of reflecting on the life we’ve spent
And how it healed after every dent.

The time to realize your true objective
And to live Islam fully and not selective.

The time to appreciate the food and drink.
To unite rich and poor and provide the link.

The month of the struggle to grasp your soul,
For the next eleven months, in full control.

This is the time when the gates of hell are shut.
The devil is locked up and his work is cut.

The doors of mercy are opened up wide
And Allah’s blessings are always on your side

This is the month when the Qur’an was revealed,
The last revelation – the door had been sealed.

A true guidance for the whole of mankind,
No better words elsewhere will we ever find.

This is the month in which falls the Night of Power,
‘Better than a thousand months’, the blessings shower.

The angels descend on us so that they may see
The faces of believers in tranquility.

Don’t ignore this Ramadan; it could be your last.
Strive to obtain Allah’s pleasure and hold your fast.

Tomorrow could be your final day, be prepared.
Seize today by the neck and have no chance spared.

Ya Ramadan!

In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind

A blessed month is casting its shadow upon us
A night of this month is better than a thousand months
Bear with patience for the sake of Ar-Rahman
It's a continuous training to strengthen our Imaan.

Glory be to Allah who sent Ramadan as a mercy to mankind
Its a purification of our soul, our heart, and our mind
With the most sincere devotion and love we fast
To be cleansed and free from sins of the past

Glorified is He, who choseth this holy month,
To test our sabr and fill our hearts with warmth
Of his Divine Light, His blessings shall glow,
The Seer of the unseen, all He does know

Ya Allah! For thee, let my breath be more pleasant than musk
Ya Allah! For thee, let me be thankful when day turns to dusk
My thoughts and heart are purified, my eyes truly see'
This blessed month, the month of spiritual rhapsody!

Ya Allah! For thee, my life I shall live!
Ya Allah! For thee, my soul I shall give!
In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind,
Praise be to Allah, who sent Ramadan as a gift to mankind

We all must fast in Ramadan

We all must fast in Ramadan
Which is one of the five Arkan
It is a blessed month you know
We fast for Allah, not for show

It is designed to make us think
As we refrain from food and drink
We feel the hunger and the pain
And much there is for us to gain

From dusk till dawn we fast
Hoping that our sawm can last
While we try to do much good
Building Taqwa like we should

Special prayers we say at night
And to turn to Allah in our plight
To forgive and guide us as we try
While ourselves we purify

And remember it was in Ramadhan
When Allah revealed the Holy Qur'an
And so began the Prophet's call
A guide and mercy to us all

And the night of Qadr is unique
Its blessings all believers seek
Then will follow the day of Eid
A truly festive day indeed

Fasting teaches discipline too
And self-control for me and you
As year by year we train to be
Better Muslims, by Allah's decree.

Ramadan is Special

Close the doors of hell
Cool down the fire
Angels go ring the bell
And put on your best attire

My guests will be here soon
Be ready to serve them
They only await the sighting of the moon
Then they'll be here all women and men

This is the month of Ramadhan
In which I am their Host
To unload their sins is the plan
Let's see who can benefit the most

For every day that they fast
And every second they restrain
Turn to dust the sins of their past
And make their future paths straight and plain

Oh! Look at him who sheds tears
And whispers to Me past midnight
Take away all his fears! Increase his years!
Fill up his heart with My Light

And give to them a special gift
The gift of a special night
The night better than a thousand years
Let their spirits take flight

Come closer to Me Oh My humble slaves
I have been waiting for you for so many days
You did forget Me but I did not
My Mercy has been there with you always

Remember with Me My Prophet (SAW) too
Without him (SAW) my message would not have gotten to you
Love his progeny if you love for him is true
In their love I open the gates of Heaven for you

Come to Me, now don't be shy
You take one step closer and I'll take five
You can better yourself, you must try
Hold My hand and you will surely get by

These nights are for you
So take advantage
It saddens me to see so few
Come take advantage

Priorities in Life

Busy, busy, busy is on everyone's tongue
Like a number one song, a million times sung
Running around crazy, as rational as a clown
Confusion and mayhem, things are upside down

Something is missing, something not quite right
Something so obvious, like black on white
My heart is agitated and in a state of suspense
As I try and define it, only an absence I sense

Life seems to have no purpose any longer
As I seek the elusive fame, status and wonga!
Laugh you may, but we're in the same boat
Chasing a dream which is misleading and remote

Surely mankind has a real purpose to serve
Surely there is something better we deserve
Better than the rich kid, respected and cool?
Designer cloths, fast car, a penthouse with a pool?

Better than parting and chilling with the boys?
Mobile phones, laptops, x-box and fancy toys?
Definitely there is more to life than these
To real happiness these are not the keys

We must wake up and we must get wise
There is something better, we must realize
Take a few deep breaths and deeply think
Because into your heart the truth must sink

The big problem is - our priorities are wrong
Everything has a place in which it belongs
So re-arrange things in their proper layers
First on the list is the daily prayers

Don't take it lightly -Salah must be completed
And day in day out, it must be repeated
Even if you are travelling or have ill-health
Or are tired and old or are busy getting wealth

The Salah is the link you must never neglect
This is the golden rule you must respect
It separates the Muslims from the rest of mankind
And by this Salah, the Muslims are defined

Bowing and prostrating, the prophet prayed
In performing the Salah, he never delayed
Before his maker, the prophet would stand
Submitting to and followed every command

In this spiritual ecstasy hours would pass by
And many tears from his eyes he would cry
Asking for guidance and forgiveness for all
And asking for mankind to accept the call

If we follow this example, we will also succeed
so for true guidance, we should also plead
We should turn to Salah, at our times of need
And only towards goodness this will lead

All the rest of the problems will disappear
And true peace and happiness will appear
The salah will embrace the soul like a friend
Things will come together - all wounds will mend

All the missing pieces will fall in their place
And this life on Earth, we will truly embrace
The link with Allah will not be broken,
This is the promise that Allah has spoken

To pray the Salah, don't ever forget
To pray the salah, you must always respect
To pray the salah, you must never neglect
To pray the Salah, to Allah will connect.

Your right priorities have to be defined
and chasing shadows, you must leave behind
In praying your Salah, success you will find
With contentment in life and peace of mind

Dedicated to brothers and sisters who knows that they need to start praying more regular (including me). May Allah give us all the guidance and strength to prioritise our lives properly and through His mercy attain success in this life and in the hereafter (ameen).
