Education independent unions suggested to call in national
education former minister Abu Bekr Benbouzid and education reforms
mastermind Ali Benzaghou to attend a three-day-meeting about reforms
assessment due to be held on Monday.

President of the National Union for Education and Training Workers
Sadek Dziri told Echorouk education reforms which were launched in 2003
were adopted by the State. “Because of that, there is no need to call in
former education minister and Professor Benzaghou. The assessment of 10
years reforms must be done far from pressure.”

He believes that shedding light on negative points is not meant
to accuse certain persons including the former minister. “The
assessment aims at having strong Algerian schools. Benbouzid’s presence
in the meeting will not bother us.”

National Secretary in charge of information and communication
at the independent council of high school teachers Messaoud Boudiba said
the meeting is an appropriate occasion to invite Benzaghou and
Benbouzid. “Their presence is encouraging to open door to everyone
because the debate would be beneficial.”

Secretary General in charge of organization at the National Union of
Education Workers Kouider Yahiaoui said the reforms period was very
short. Benbouzid’s presence in the meeting is not important, according
to the union.
