do we have to teach reported speech for 3rd year pupils?

First topic message reminder :

In 3rd year official syllabus there is no mention of reported speech lesson.Although,it may be included in BAC exam. What do you think ? Do we have to make a brief revision ? Or do we ignore it ? Your opinions are important because we are all concerned ... Thank you in advance

Yes, you are right sister NOR the instruction is not new. Our inspector talked about it last year too and he said that we could leave til the end as a task during the revision period since our pupils had already seen it the years before starting from middle school.

I taught the form during UNIT 2. Now, I will feel at ease when I see the baccalaureate exam paper this June, because I did my duty in full

An interesting issue that Mrs. sossa has risen here!
On my behalf, the reported speech was a priority that I made at the opening of the final term. I did almost the impossible to get my students to that point right before any inquiry goes to the candidate's mind.

Even though the reported speech had been tackled in the 1st and 2nd year , it should be once again introduced gradually in the 3rd year right from the beginning.A reminder is to be given in the 1st unit and different activities are to be set in the next ones.Just like the passive and the conditional that are considered the most complex grammatical language items for the students,the reported speech should be dealt with in different but not consecutive sessions .So,no one else could know what is the best for the students than their teachers!
