During the colonial period of France to Algeria, precisely on June 6th 1863 a decision was taken by the governor of Algiers to build a town called "Orléans Ville" North of Algeria and a couple of hudreds kilometers far from the capital Algiers. Thank you Mr. Wallace for this map

They loved that name because it is found in most of the towns they founded everywhere.Orléans Ville is the present Chlef or El Asnam before the 1980's earthquake |
