Objective – learners will:
1) Write a short biography of a famous person using past indicative tense.

1. Individual Writing: My Favorite Star – 2 minutes
• Who is your favorite star? Why are they famous?

2. Pair Discussion: Favorite Stars – 3 minutes
• Pairs interview each other about their favorite star.

3. Class Discussion: Favorite Stars – 5 minutes
•Pairs report their answers.
•Teachers writes answers on the blackboard.

4. Class Discussion: Britney Spears – 5 minutes
•Look at the picture on page 13? Who is it? Why is she famous? What do you know about her?

5. While-reading Assignment: Britney Spears Timeline – 1 minutes

■Got an agent 1998 1999 ▼ Dec 2, 1981 Age 11 1998 2000
• Teacher writes the timeline on the blackboard or on a poster and asks learners to look for the events that match the dates while they read the text.
• Learners should not copy the timeline, only look for the answers.

6. Individual Silent Reading: Britney Spears – 5 minutes

7. Class Discussion: Britney Spears Timeline – 5 minutes
• Teacher asks learners to report their answers and writes them on the blackboard.

8. Individual Scanning: Verbs in Past Indicative – 3 minutes
• Re-read the text.
• Underline all the verbs that are in the past. Which verbs have –ed and which change?

9. Group Writing: Biography of a Famous Person – 10 minutes
• Write a biography of a famous person.
• Remember to use the correct form of the verb.

10. Report Group Work: Biography of a Famous Person – 10 minutes

11. Homework Assignment – 1 minutes
•Find out information about a famous person: Where are they from? When were they born? bWhere did they live? What did they do? Why are they famous?
• You can look for information in a book or magazine or ask your family or friends for help.
• Make a timeline with information about the person, and be prepared to talk about the person in the next class.
